We created this site to celebrate the life of our son and brother Charles "Charlie" Bilbrey. Charlie was born in Binghamton, NY on May 10th, 1986, the day before Mother's Day. He and 2 other soldiers were killed on July 26, 2007 when an IED exploded near their HUMVEE outside of Fallujah, Iraq.
Charlie left behind family that will never forget him. His parents, Barbara and Charles Sr. His sisters, Brianne and Shannon. His brother, Patrick. Patrick and Charlie were each other's greatest fans. Charlie leaves his grandparents, John and Ann Hemminger. Aunts and Uncles, Joan and Carlos Garcia, John and Aimee Hemminger, Vicki and Ron Nagy, Carmen and Ed Kokklenberg, Maureen and Mark Truesdale. His cousins, Michael and Kristen, Barry and Katie, Eddie and Jessica, Ashley and Julia, Keaton, Merrin and Aivyn. Charlie joins his grandmother Vickie Lindsey and his Aunt Kathy.
Charlie left an impression on all who met him. He leaves many friends in his community and in the Army. There is a void none of us will ever be able to fill. Charlie lived life loud. When he walked into a room you knew it and when he left this world, you felt it.

"Earn the Spurs"
Cavalry Stetson...Worn Proudly
When I'm Gone
by Mrs. Lyman Hancock
When I come to the end of my journey And I travel my last weary mile Just forget, if you can, that I ever frowned And remember only the smile
Forget unkind words I have spoken Remember some good I have done Forget that I ever had heartache And remember I’ve had loads of fun
Forget that I have stumbled and blundered And sometimes fell by the way Remember I have fought some hard battles And won, ere the close of the day
Then forget to grieve for my going, I would not have you sad for a day But in the summer just gather some flowers And remember the place where I lay
And come in the shade of the evening When the sun paints the sky in the west Stand for a few moments beside me And remember only my best
