Thank you for getting Charlie this site so that others have the oppourtunity to know and love your son, too. We all want the chance to thank him for his sacrifice for our freedom and those of the Iraqi people. He will forever be remembered, loved, thanked, and honored.

I am lifting you up to the Father, Friend.

Thank you for the Sacrafice  / Jeff McClintock (US Citizen )
I came across your Son's mememorial site and was touched. I just want you to know that there are people out here that truely appreciate those whom have sacraficed their lives for our freedom. I am blessed to have two healthy children and I have often thought of the pain a parent must endure if they were to lose a child. I can't express how thankful we are for Charlie's dedicated service to our country and how sorry we are for your loss. People that are willing to put their lives on the line for others, they are the greatest heros we will ever know. I know there are no words that can ease the pain you must endure, but I hope people expressing their gratitude may help in some small way. Please cherish all your fond memories you shared together, take pride in raising such a giving/great son and know that he is at peace and in a much better place. Peace be with all of you and I send an Irish prayer your way!   Thank you, JHM Close

My deepest condolences.  I hope that these few words from the Holy Scriptures can give you some comfort in your time of grief...

John 11:32-45

32 And so Mary, when she arrived where Jesus was and caught sight of him, fell at his feet, saying to him: “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” 33 Jesus, therefore, when he saw her weeping and the Jews that came with her weeping, groaned in the spirit and became troubled; 34 and he said: “Where have YOU laid him?” They said to him: “Lord, come and see.” 35 Jesus gave way to tears. 36 Therefore the Jews began to say: “See, what affection he used to have for him!” 37 But some of them said: “Was not this [man] that opened the eyes of the blind man able to prevent this one from dying?”

38 Hence Jesus, after groaning again within himself, came to the memorial tomb. It was, in fact, a cave, and a stone was lying against it. 39 Jesus said: “TAKE the stone away.” Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to him: “Lord, by now he must smell, for it is four days.” 40 Jesus said to her: “Did I not tell you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” 41 Therefore they took the stone away. Now Jesus raised his eyes heavenward and said: “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 True, I knew that you always hear me; but on account of the crowd standing around I spoke, in order that they might believe that you sent me forth.” 43 And when he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice: “Laz´a·rus, come on out!” 44 The [man] that had been dead came out with his feet and hands bound with wrappings, and his countenance was bound about with a cloth. Jesus said to them: “Loose him and let him go.”

45 Therefore many of the Jews that had come to Mary and that beheld what he did put faith in him;

Go in peace blessed angel, April 30, 2008  / Jane Eisele (forum friend )

Dear Charlie,

I stand in awe of you, grief stricken at the loss of such a promising young man, but in awe of your courage, your fortitude and your sacrifice.

I had a brother named Charlie.........who passed away a long time ago. He was 20 years old when he went ashore on Omaha Beach, Normandy France on D-Day. He survived it physically, but those few days and the things he experienced changed him forever.

I ask God's blessings on you, and on your mom. Her sacrifice is so overwhelming; it's hard for the rest of the world to understand or to comprehend.

Please dear angel, send signs to her, let her know that you're well and happy in heaven and look after her. A mother who is grieving the loss of her child is difficult to comfort. Only you, with the blessing of God sending messages from heaven, can ease her pain.

I stand in honor of your name.

Jane Eisele
